I'm 150 days into this year of fitness and going strong!
Since I exercise at least 6 days/week, I've ridden my Nustep about 130 days so far this year. And since I ride long enough to burn at least 500-700 calories each day, that means:
130 days x 500 calories burned/day = at least 65,000 calories burned so far this year riding my Nustep!!!
Combine that with healthy eating (between 1100-1500 calories a day) and exercising using resistance bands, and it's not surprising that I'm experiencing results. I've lost about 20 pounds so far and can tell a big difference in the muscle tone in my arms and legs (above the knee).
I think I'm doing this! Getting fit, that is. Not too shabby for a wheelchair-using woman! I'm learning persistence, patience, and discipline to boot!
While I'm in this for the long-haul (as in lifetime), my short-term goal is to go swimming sometime this summer. I haven't been in a pool, lake, river, or ocean for at least 10 years. I LOVE THE WATER! When my kids were young, we lived at the swimming pool. My birthday is at the end of July. My goal is to buy a bathing suit and go swimming to celebrate my 49th. It might be challenging to figure out how to get out of the pool or lake, but I'm creative and determined and, if all else fails, there's always the Fire Department. :)
